Oberthur Technologies and Critical Path in Exclusive Partnership
To provide backup and restore services for mobile phones
PARIS, France – April 4th, 2011 – Oberthur Technologies, the world’s second largest provider of security and identification solutions and services based on smart card technologies, and Critical Path, leader in the field of messaging services, have announced today an exclusive agreement to provide a joint back-up and synchronisation platform for device and SIM data. The combined offer provides efficient management of a subscriber’s personal data on either their SIM or their mobile devices.
As mobile devices are increasingly at the centre of social activity and multimedia entertainment, customers have a rising fear of losing their contacts, pictures, music and other personal content when losing or changing their mobile device. With the spreading of personal data across multiple mobile devices – mobile phones, tablets, netbooks – the need for synchronizing and storing them in one safe place has become crucial.
Oberthur Technologies and Critical Path joint back-up and synchronisation platform provides an intuitive and complete solution to synchronize, manage, save and restore personal data either directly from the customer mobile device or through a user-friendly web interface. Customers can manage synchronization automatically, periodically or manually since it allows device detection and recognition. Mobile operators will therefore secure customer satisfaction and loyalty by quickly storing and restoring their data and content.
